Fair Energy Transition Webinar Series – Webinar 2 – Koen Straver & Peter Mulder (TNO)

The last Thursday of each month between 16h and 17h (Dutch time; UTC+01:00), we invite a speaker to present their work on the fair energy transition.
This webinar will focus on a theme that gained a lot of societal attention in the last few weeks; energy poverty in the Netherlands. Koen Straver and Peter Mulder from TNO (a Dutch research organization) will present their report ‘Energy poverty in The Netherlands: how much, where and who?’ as well as their white paper ‘Energy poverty and the energy transition’. They will also touch upon topics related to the energy transition that might emerge into unfair consequences for households.
About the presenters:
Koen Straver is a social scientist, working at TNO on social innovations within the research group of energy transition studies. He has conducted research on energy poverty and inclusiveness of the energy transition in the Netherlands. He is also part of the managing committee of the European research network on energy poverty, ENGAGER.
Peter Mulder works as a senior scientist in the Energy Transition group at TNO. He is an economist, specialized in applied research at the edge of energy and urban economics, mostly using quantitative empirical methods. He is particularly interested in the economics of energy transitions, cities and the spatial structure of economic development.
